As a teenager, I didn’t experience acne very much. A zit here and there was about it, however, as I became older, it certainly made a debut for me. Mostly after having my children. It left some scaring as well as discoloration to my skin which made me very self conscious about my skin. I had to use a concealer on my face to try to even out my skin tone and hide the scarring on there that the acne left behind for me.
This lactic acid peel is a professional grade peel. Lactic Acid peels are alpha hydroxy acids derived from milk making this peel very mild. Lactic acid is a natural human metabolite, so the chances of having an allergic reaction are slim to none. After researching a little bit, I decided this may be something I would like to try to see what results it could offer for me.
This product comes with a rubberized top eye dropper for distribution. The serum is nice and thick and I didn’t notice much of a scent when applying it. A little bit of this does go a very long way. Prior to using this, I washed my face with regular soap and water. I patted it dry. I did this to remove any oils on my face. I then applied this product. I used a cotton ball and simply used the dropper to put the product on there. I stayed away from my eyes and openings of my nose.
After having this product on my face for about 30 seconds, I noticed some burning as well as stinging. Per the directions, this was normal. I left it on for about a minute, it was all I could stand. I rinsed with warm water. Now per the directions these cautions should be used when using this product:
Keep the peel at least a quarter od an inch away from eyes and mucus membranes
If skin irritation occurs, remove the product by neutralizing with cool water immediately and consult a physician.
Do not apply the peel more than once in a 7 day period.
Do not expose your face to the sun for 24 hrs. before and after the application of the peel.
Do not apply the peel to the skin that has been waxed or shaved within 24 hrs.
When using the peel, a stinging sensation may occur, this is normal.
Once I was finished, my skin felt a lot more softer. I used this again in seven days with the same instruction. I can see that my acne scars are lightening and my skin has a more radiant look to it. I am quite surprised to be honest. I have used this product for three weeks and each week seems to make my skin look better and better. I can’t wait to see the long term effects of using this product for my skin.
