Minecraft. It is the latest craze with kids of all ages as well as adults and it should come as no surprise as to why. Offering the ability to use your imagination in building while fighting creepers as well as many other characters, this game has really caught on. I will admit, when I first seen it, I was reluctant to play, but once I did, I love it and some of the things I have built are pretty neat. Now the game developer has expanded this game into something a little different.
Minecraft Story Mode is an ongoing episodic point-and-click graphic adventure video game based on the survival video game Minecraft The game is developed by Telltale Games, in association with Mojang, the original developer of Minecraft. The game is an episodic interactive comedy-drama point-and-click graphic adventure video game. The player will collect items, solve puzzles, and talk to non-player characters through conversation trees to learn about the story and determine what to do next. Like other Telltale Games, Decisions that the player makes will impact events in the current and later episodes. Elements of crafting and building are still part of the gameplay, following a similar approach.
So, how did this go with my Minecraft fan kids? The love it! There are five eposodes to this game. To my knowledge episode 4 and 5 have yet to roll out. We are currently just beginning episode 3. For Episode 1: The Order of the Stone, the kids found this to be really neat. This took them a few days to get through which was alright. As I sat with watching, the other kids were giggling at the game while my son played. This game was quite entertaining. Episode 2: Assembly Required wasn’t as entertaining as the first episode, but still kept their attention and had some comedy. As I stated, we have just started Episode 3: The Last Place You Look. So far it seems just as entertaining as the first one.
All together, there will be a total of five episodes for this game. Episodes 4 and 5 have yet to be released. The kids certainly enjoy this game and the graphics are great.
