Having a good fan is almost a must for some people. Many depend on them to fall asleep while others live in a warm climate and need something to cool them as well as their home off. No matter what your reason is, it is something that is found in almost any home. Millions of us though purchase a fan that we think is good, only to get it home and find out otherwise while others start out good and then lose their effectiveness and eventually stop working.
I am one of those types of folks where I am always hot. I tend to drive people crazy and it is a good thing I live in a cooler climate. I have a hubby and five children though and they don’t seem to appreciate my temperature issues. We have went through many fans and when I say many, I mean many. I vacuum them out, clean them out routinely, but it just doesn’t seem to work on some of them. We buy the Wal-Mart cheapies. Anyhow, it seems like a huge waste of money when you think of all the fans that meet their doom.
I was recently offered the chance to review the Ozeri Ultra 42 inch Wind Fan – Adjustable Oscillating Tower Fan with Noise Reduction Technology and man was I ever excited to. Now, I am have reviewed another one of their tower fans as well, the Ozeri 3x Tower Fan (44″) with Passive Noise Reduction Technology, so once I am done talking about this fan, I will offer a comparison as to what I think of them.
The Ozeri Ultra 42 inch Wind Fan – Adjustable Oscillating Tower Fan with Noise Reduction Technology is quite the fan. I would have to say this is the king cobra of all of the fans I have ever seen. When they say this is quiet, they’re right. This is about as quiet as a fan is going to get here. It’s very sleek and stylish, so it will go with your design decor of your home in whatever room you may choose to have this in. This fan features 3 pre-programmed airflow patterns designed to foster sleep, relaxation and comfort, and 3 whisper-quiet speed settings with 90 degree oscillation for optimal air circulation. Now I don’t know about the 90 degrees. I am going to say this oscillates a little more than 90 degrees in my opinion. The speeds of this fan are spot on and when this fan is on high, it almost reminds me of sitting in front of an air conditioner. It is that strong, seriously! Putting this together was a breeze. I just needed a screwdriver, but in the directions, it said there were no tools required. Don’t run, this was easy to put together and it took me no more than a couple of minutes. I will be the first to admit, I am not good at things like that, but it was a breeze for me. I chose to add the optional base for added height to mine. You don’t have to if you don’t want to, The base of this is nice and sturdy and doesn’t rock at all not even when oscillating. The control panel on top is covered and opened with a gentle push. Inside the panel there are buttons to control the fan as well as a place to store the remote control. I love that! I am one to lose my remotes! The remote takes two AA batteries which were included with this as well and were easy to get into the remote control. The screen is one word AWESOME! It tells you the temperature of the room that this fan is in, it also has a little propeller icon which spins when the fan is on. It has icons to show the different settings, when the fan is oscillating as well as the speeds. The screen is very bright and can in fact be used as a nightlight as well. The screen does dim after sometime, so don’t worry about something bright shining at you. This fan is also equipped with a timer than can be set up to twelve hours which is a great thing. It can save on your energy usage. The cord is a nice length and nice and durable. It would take a lot to get a short in this cord.
One thing about this fan that I am not use to, is that this doesn’t come apart to clean, so you really need to be proactive about vacuuming this out if you tend to have a dusty home. I vacuum mine once a week and it seems to be just fine. After using this for a little while, I haven’t noticed it losing power and it blows as powerful as the first time I plugged it in. Other than that, there are no complaints when it comes to this fan in my opinion.
So how does this compare to the other one I reviewed? Well as you could see if you were to look them up, they are different in appearance and one has three fan bladed while this one doesn’t. The features of them are the same as well and the remotes too are very different. This fan is a lot more powerful in my opinion. That is really the only difference other than price. Both are great in my opinion but if I had to choose, I would choose this one hands down! This in my opinion would be a wonderful gift, so I have chosen to add this to my Valentine’s Day Gift Guide. Anyone would love to open this as a gift and have this in their home and if you just want to purchase it yourself…why not…you deserve it. This fan is pampering at it’s best.
