One of the biggest hurdles of getting my son to sleep in his own bed was him being afraid of the dark. We tried a few different things to help with this issue, but when he got up, he still feared the hallway which even though was dimly lit, was still a fear for him.
I recently stumbled upon a product that helps greatly with the issues we were experiencing with that. The item is called a “Bright Time Buddy”. Here is what the company lists about the product :

When I introduced this to my little guy, he seems to really like it. He is a huge dog lover to begin with, so it was a home run! It was easy enough for him to understand how to use this. You simply press the top of the head and the light is on. This is a nice soft material, so it is easy to snuggle with which he totally does. What I really love about this, is that it has an auto shut-off timer. So after an hour, it shuts off. This offers just enough time for him to fall asleep and stay on until he is in a deep sleep. For me, I purchased some re-chargable batteries to go along with this as we all know how fast batteries can add up. Battery life on this is about average and overall, I think this was a wonderful idea.
