I remember being a new mother. I wanted to make sure I was doing everything perfect. There is no instruction manual for new parents, we just go by instinct and advice that we get and hope for the best in the outcome. One of the best moments you will have with your baby is bath time. It is the perfect time for bonding and to calm your baby down. One of the many challenges a new parent faces is if the water temperature is right. For years parents have been checking with their elbow, but that isn’t always the most best way either as we all have different tolerances.
I was recently offered the opportunity to review a product called the “Duckymeter”. I jumped at the chance as I know that many of my readers are parents and I thought this would be something wonderful for you all to hear about. Looking at this, it looks like a regular rubber duckie. It doesn’t squish or squeek like we all are use to seeing with a rubber duck. Instead, it is made of a soft plastic with a thermometer placed into it. I liked this idea as I am one of those parents who thinks the rubber ducks aren’t the most sanitary. Your child chews on them and such while in the tub and sometimes water gets trapped into them. No matter how much you try, sometimes it is just impossible to get the water all out. The idea of this product is wonderful in my opinion.
How did this measure up? Actually, quite accurately. Once placed into the water, there are three indicator lights for this product. Red for too hot, green for just right and blue for too cold. The screen dispays the temperature digitally on the screen inside the circle on the duckymeter’s back. It is easy to read with large numerals. The light is nice and bright, so there is no question when determining the temperature. Readings are offered very quickly. This is pretty much fool proof. Now, I don’t have a baby, but I do have a four year old, and even at his age, he loves this thing. I think this is a wonderful product and would make a perfect gift. This is definately a must have for any parent and grandparent.
